Yes, France is a nice place to visit. Kind of like visiting a museum. Few things of signifcance have come out of that country in the past 100 years, yet the French still maintain a degree of arrogance unwarranted by their nation's recent accomplishments.

After seeing Saving Private Ryan, one realizes how thankful the French should be to America, for had Americans not died at Normandy, the French would all be speaking German today. Unfortunately the generation of French who embraced the arrival of the Americans are vanishing (dying) and the new generations have less understanding and appreciation of history.

Because I speak French, I have never been treated poorly for linguistic inferiority as is often the case with American tourists in France. Ah, but the women! Italian women are top notch, however. But so are Japanese and South American. If there are women out there who think this is sexist - it is! Nothing wrong with a healthy interest in the opposite sex. (They should at least be content that I don't get excited about the guys in Italy).

John, what sort of work do you do that brings you over to France? I recall you were in Germany a few months back.
