David; In the past they have had such a flaw, whether or not it was high internal costs or arrogance I do not know. But even when they had low costs(Apple II, Macs) thay had high prices that allowed Wintels room to flourish.
If they make Gatescode NC boxes under Oracles tutelage they might be low cost, but I do not think Oracle is low cost either, so it might be a suicide pact??
