Ref:'Feringhee',Malayalam variation 'Paranghee'

JPR,I just remembered something, we also have a word in Malayalam called 'Paranghee' but it is mostly used in reference to Protughese in the country who came as uninvited guests in the olden days,it could also be used to denote any 'foreigner' who came to the country as invaders I suppose.Anyway it appears to me that 'Paranghee' in Malayalam is just a variation of 'Feringhee' apparently used in Northern India.I also think there is 'contempt' implied in the word, anyhow it is not a term of endearment I don't think.
