Intel friends check this out. Ralph Nader is telling IBM how to run its business. Nader says OS/2 should be free and promoted as an alternative to Windows.

These lawyers are just too much. Ralph, Duh! Don't you think IBM already tried to promote OS/2. I hope he isn't operating with taxpayer's money.

Nader To Gerstner: Free OS/2
By Mary Jo Foley, Sm@rt Reseller

IBM Corp. has gained an unlikely OS/2 ally in the form of consumer advocate Ralph Nader, who sent today a letter to IBM chairman Lou Gerstner suggesting he make the OS/2 source code public, as a way of combating Microsoft Corp. and Windows.

"We are writing to ask that IBM stop forcing customers who buy IBM personal computers to purchase Microsoft Windows," stated the Nader letter. "You should give your PC customers an opportunity to buy a non-Microsoft operating system, or at a minimum to permit the consumer to buy a PC from IBM without any operating system.

"Millions of OS2 users are bitterly disappointed at IBM's failure to promote and improve the OS2 platform as an alternative to Microsoft Windows," the letter continued. Nader said he was "surprised" that IBM Aptiva users were not able to buy systems with anything but Windows preloaded and that IBM was refusing to provide customers with refunds if they decide to strip Windows from their new machines--despite the fact that Microsoft's own End-User License Agreements for Windows allows users to request rebates under these circumstances.
