Thanks for your gracious response. It so happened that I looked up AMD's option status last night. Here is what I found:

According to Lombard.com., as of 11/26's closing,

AMD Dec 25 call: open interest 4644
AMD Dec 25 put : open interest 814
Ratio: >5.7

Dec 22.5 call/put ratio also substantial (much greater than 1).

This points out a distinct possibility that when triple witching date comes (12/21), the call writers (institutions and MMs) would more likely hold the stock price down under 25 so that the calls would expire worthless. Could be huge profits there. And this is precisely what happened to INTC in November.

There are other option numbers associated with AMD, but are too tedious to cite. It seems to me, though, the pattern remains the same.

My warning: short-term (weeks), AMD may not be such a sure-fire investment. Besides, when it comes to window dressing at the end of the quarte/year, AMD has very little GLAMOUR to offer.
