If any of us is actually going to win the challenge, we need to also get those pesky first round games right. Here's a great article about the statistical odds of an upset occurring: espn.go.com

With that in mind, I'm going to probably change a few of my first round picks.

The South region looks the most unpredictable to me. I like Murray State to upset Ohio State and Creighton to upset Louisville. You've also convinced me, so far at least, to take UCLA over Auburn and then Maryland over UCLA.

In the West, I think Penn has a good chance to upset Florida and Gonzaga to oust Minnesota.

Nothing jumps out at me in the Midwest, and I still haven't evaluated the East.

Thus, my Final Four may end up being UConn, Duke, Maryland, and Kentucky. Seeding wise, that would be two #1s, a #2, and a #3, pretty much what historically happens according to the author of the above article.
