I concur with most of what Shawn said. While many USAmericans eat that stuff for breakfast - the competition is fierce. Dunkin Donuts is firmly entrenched in the Northeast, can't speak for the rest of the country. Great for coffee and donuts (which I rarely eat) but the bagels are sub-par. Bagels have become quite popular and I agree that people who eat bagels routinely have many other places to choose from which offer better bagels. Most of the people I talk to agree that Wendy's makes a better burger - but their locations are far fewer then MCD or BK. I've been holding WEN for a while and watching it move sideways for almost the whole time, but am in for the long haul. On the up side...here's a true story: This older gent in my town hit the lottery for about a million or so (paid over 20 yrs) about a year or two ago. He just hit again on a scratch ticket and won another ~1.5 million (one payment). He took the wife out for dinner...yup, you guessed it...to Wendy's. Man, if that ain't livin' I don't know what is.
