If they compensate their employees with cash the corporations can deduct it as an expense.

If they compensate their employees with insurance that is also an expense and can be deducted.

The ONLY benefit I can see a corporation getting by providing insurance is the competitive advantage it gives them in recruiting the best employees.

That may be a big factor at Boeing or Microsoft or some other high tech firms, but I don't see why the average company that just needs people to work the factory line or pour coffee should have to worry about it.

For a GM or a Ford, they don't even make a profit, so the tax writeoff benefit doesn't even exist.
