Just talked to Dave Gill (IR) at Bre-x. Freeport is responsible for about 25% of mine development costs. Bre-X is responsible for its proportionate share of the costs. Dave also mentioned Indo taxes of 35%. Therefore no free tax ride.

I don't mind giving 35% to Indonesia if it was going towards building schools and hospitals for the poor. But giving it to guys like Bob Hasan is like giving it to the mafia with their shakedowns. I think Bob is already a billionaire. Now we all know how he got it. Is this related to Clinton political contributions from the Indonesian Lippo group? you bet ya - thats how they do business (open bribing!)
