Gregor, I have prayed for each of the people you listed. Debilitating diseases are an awful thing, although I suppose there must be a purpose. His will be done. Amen. I had a disturbing experience in church Sunday. The pastor asked us to ask someone near us if there was anything bothering them. I was seated next to a stranger, but I asked him. It turned out his wife had just left him and he was looking at a fight just to be able to see his kids. He was pretty depressed. We talked a few minutes, then the service started back up. It occurred to me we hadn't even exchanged names. I decided to get his name when the service ended and invite him to call me if he wanted to talk (on a personal basis; I figured if he learned my profession he might think I was trolling for work, which was not my intent). But when it ended, he got away before I had a chance to ask. What bothers me most about this, is that I feel like the Lord put this man in my hands and I dropped the ball. So, until church next Sunday, I'm praying for him, the nameless "man in the pew". And I am asking God to help me do better next time he gives me an assignment. And I'm asking for prayers for the both of us in that regard. In Christ, Ken.
