Well, it's purely an economic enterprise, trapping. So you drown Pepe in order to acquire his fur, which you can exchange for money. Or make into a fur hat like Kerry's. Trapping is the finest activity I've ever experienced. Although the killing aspect of it is distasteful, it's no different from nearly every economic enterprise in that some critter has to die at some point. I like Kahlil Gibran's take on the matter: "When you kill a beast say to him in your heart, "By the same power that slays you, I to am slain; and I too shall be consumed. For the law that delivered you into my hand shall deliver me into a mightier hand. Your blood and my blood is naught but the sap that feeds the tree of heaven."
