Datek has been around since the mid 1970's, they have well in excess of 60,000 customers and execute approximately 5% of all NASDAQ trades. They have recently since the move from NYC to NJ greatly improved their customer service. They were the only online broker to execute trades all day on Tueday Oct 28th. While they certainly were slower than normal that day you could get on you could get quotes when they were available to Datek from the exchanges, and you could execute AND CANCEL trades. Since Turnaround Tuesday Datek has added three more servers. Yes I think you can send your check off to Datek and not worry. BTW when they get your check your account will be credited and you will be able to trade immediately, no wait for your check to clear. Rod Dream a little
