I stopped buying security software 3 years ago when the one I had at the time would keep popping up telling me that a particular virus or trojan was infecting my computer, and then asking if I wanted it deleted. I would click delete. A minute later I would get the same message asking me to delete. After about ten times of the same message, I realized that the sec. software was not doing the job and I would have to go into safe mode and delete whatever was infecting my computer. Ever since, I rely on free security software and spyware. I run a different spyware every month getting rid of the worst of the crap that affixes to my computer. Haven't had any more problems.

The only benefit I see tying McAfee to an INTC chip is that it may not slow down one's computer as much.
