It seems that the current focus of DDI/IDO is transfer their PDC customers to CDMA. There was little net growth in DDI/IDO subscriber numbers.

This has been true for at least the last six months......

It seems like the EZweb seems to be holding its own against i-Mode. Let us see how soon they can overtake NTT in growth numbers. If it does not happen in the next 6 months, I will be worried because the speed of 64KBs for the EZ web is 6 times that of i-mode.

I certainly hope so.....but I've been waiting for this cross-over for the last six months. The farther that DDI falls behind, the more that network effects will benefit NTT. Developers may only develop websites that work on i-Mode rather than EZ Web.....hopefully the packet-switched networks offered by 1xrtt will reverse the sub numbers. I think that the always-on feature may be more important than the improvements in speed.
