Edwin-I have compared the SparQ and Syjet cartridges. They seem virtually identical from the outside. I wouldn't call them flimsy. I'm not aware that there have been problems with dust getting in with the Syjet, which has been around long enough for problems to surface. I haven't had any problem with my internal Syjet. On the other hand, I thought that fit and finish could be better on the external SparQ drive, at least on the one I bought. Whether that affects function or is merely cosmetic I don't know.
