Hello Joe, nice to see that you are still with us on this board. What has happened to Thanh ? I suppose NOVL never lived up to his/her expectation.

You asked: <BTW, how much more Novell did you buy <g>?

NONE. I am holding onto my "small" position in the hope of a buyout in the $15 range which I think we will see sometime in 1997. The options are currently trading in the $10 - $15 range so even without a buyout, I can see $14 at the minimum. If I had to buy more, I would do so by selling the Jan 12 1/2 call option at $2 3/4. If exercised, it would be like buying the stock at $9 3/4 today (not that I have any plans at the moment).

I sold EMC and MSFT yesterday and have taken a position in Motorola (500 shares). I believe that MOT is "cheap" in comparison to other tech. stocks. It has done diddly squat over the last year and my target is $80 over the next two years.

Onto Gold.....my fund is down from $10.62 to $9.90 as of yesterday but I am holding tight hoping that the metal will push to the $395 by year end and in the process take the fund to $11 (ouch !! is the word I am looking for).

Regarding my investment in the health sector fund which was offered at a price of $10/unit on Nov. 1/96, it is up 5% thus far. I am thinking of cashing out this week. In other words, this market has been spooked by Greenspan and nothing is going to survive the slow decline...except NOVL ? Now that would be a first.

Take care and happy holidays.
