Intel issues sales warning
--4:24 pm - By Alec Davis
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- Intel said Thursday its third-quarter sales would fall short of the company's previous expectations, citing weaker demand in Europe.
The chip giant now says it expects revenue for the period to rise 3 to 5 percent from the $8.5 billion it generated in the second quarter.
Intel (INTC: news, msgs) also said in its report after the closing bell that its gross margin will be 62 percent, plus or minus a point, instead of its previous estimate of 63 to 64 percent.
