Somebody took it private about 5 or 6 years ago. Just drove past their campus off 101 by Redwood City not too long ago, I think their sign was still there, but some of the buildings have been torn down an replace by some building with a Stanford University logo.

Kinda sad to see that company go. Recently Dolby died, he was in the Ampex team that invented the first video tape recorder. Back I the mid-50's I think.
