Dale, Well, FWIW, here's something you might find interesting from a personal anecdotal point of view. Last month, even my brother-in-law who'd been in the Reserves for years decided NOT to renew his contract because he'd had enough of dealing with the fear of deployment and wanted out. Sort of shocked us (being mellow Canadians LOL!) because he's still a staunch Republican, rah-rah-Bush all the way kind of guy, but he just doesn't want to put his life on the line and his family at risk. As he said, "It was basic human instinct." He's not alone in that many of his friends have already done the same or are counting the days until they can do so. And, they're all willing to forego some pretty nice perks and a nice pension, too. Sue
