Dividend distributions are just that. Distributions from dividend paying companies within the fund. Cap gains distributions are usually (maybe always???) paid once a year; on 12/31 for both of my funds. This is also split into short term and long term. In any event, it looks like today will be an up day, with Europe already showing major gains. Gary
