John, Thanks for sharing your views. So far, the "forget it and move on" view is in the minority.. I'm getting quite a few emails
(( mao777@aol.com)) who say things like "Thank god somebody is trying to do something about this." And I am starting to collect anecdotes about abuse and abusers who are no longer with us.
I would PREFER to keep EVERYBODY aboard, frankly, because a diversity of views is what makes SI. But the old rule about the right to swing your fist stopping at where my nose starts has to apply, in the view of many of the folks contacting me... I share that view.
Would you please comment to me on the following "minimum standards"
which are intended to accomodate everybody while protecting everybody...(( Starting Point. looking to be revised)
A finished product (suggested "Standards")is going to SI Management.
1. Free Speech should be maximized. Any legal speech is permitted, so long as affected members are freely engaged in a mutual discussion. No views should be barred from any thread, so long as they do not violate rules 2 and 3.
2. Comments attacking an individual rather than an issue or viewpoint are not tolerated.
3.. An SI member has the right not to be contacted by anyone to/about whom they are not posting and by whom they have requested not to be contacted.
Please give me your feedback, John dlo "The Saintly One"
