When I reload Win98 from CD, I need to re-install drivers too. After this, I re-load software. Finally, I must re-configure everything and re-load personal data. The process takes 9-11 hours, and the task is unpleasant as well. I posted my frustrations on this thread and Rich provided a solution. Get PowerQuest's Drive Image. Once I get Win98 running properly, create an image of my Win98 drive on another partition. When things go wrong, just restore the last working image. It takes me 150 seconds to create an image and 350 seconds to restore it. I've probably restored my system a couple of dozen times. Usually my system's running smoothly again before I can get a (instant) coffee made. Knowing that I'm computing with a 'safety net' makes experimenting less stressful. I originally used FDISK to partition my disk; however, Partition Magic from PowerQuest does a nice job too and you can partition your drive without losing data. Cheers, PW. P.S.
