However, I believe you are mistaken. The early Christians were martyrs, not fighters. There are many, many verses from Jesus, Paul, John the Baptist that tell us to overcome evil with good, even at the cost of our own lives.
Joh 18:36* Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
John the Baptist:
Lu 3:14* And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. |
