sound editors---
I use a rather simple program for rather simple needs--
Total Recorder which I bought and downloaded for .ra .rm .mp3 cuz an acquaintance recommended it as basically what I want--> (K.I.S.S.-functionality =Keep It Simple Stupid) and he uses it too for simple recording who also uses an audio program from Germany for recording LP's to digital-- which I was anxious to WAnt until he told me it was like 350 bucks to own it-- shoot I can BUY those CD's for that kind of moola and I am not a master audioPrO-afficientaudo(something)you-know-what-i-mean.
his expensive program is called WaveLab at
steinberg.net
wavelab:
steinberg.net
(I only went there to look at the page-did not investigate)

So TR is nice but maybe too simple -Roxio5 has basic functions- now I want to know more since I just usually jump in without the exhaustive research some people take--
here is a nice directory of sound editors
passtheshareware.com
and I'm sure ZDnet has alot also....

My inquiry is if someone else is using something like CoolEdit2000
syntrillium.com

and how complex are these and/or the learning curve it takes --
I dont want to be a sound engineer but would like to have seamless tracks and some mixing and would like to hear of others experience.
thank you
