I believe there is a common misconception when it comes to refurbished drives. The vast majority of product is normally returned for reasons other than being faulty of defective and is perfectly good. In fact, I would not hesitate in buying refurbished units not only for this reason, but because it is common practice for these drives to be individually tested and inspected to a degree in excess of standard production levels before being resold.
