i am suggesting that crashguard (not windoctor) be disabled. cg does not find and fix errors. that's windoctor's department. cg is supposed to help you avoid and/or recover from crashes ("supposed to" being the operative phrase here). i've found my system crashes far less with it turned off. i have the option set for cg to load at startup, but then i manually disable it from the systray. this gives me the choice. sometimes for grins (headaches?) i let it run, but usually encounter increased crashes when i do.

you'll hear this time and time again from norton users about cg. it's certainly nothing that i came up with all by myself. <g3> it sure wouldn't hurt to shut that baby off and see if you notice a difference.
