"Less, you seem to be going out of your way to blur distinctions between two different religions and two very different levels of religious persecution."

No I am not going out of my way to do any such thing. In fact, the differences which have been promoted on this thread as distinctions in the religions are artificial and exaggerated. Had you considered each in any light other than as my club and it's adversary you would might seem to be more inclined to agree.

The distinctions in culture in the pockets of ME turmoil vs the culture of the USA are very different. The culture of Muslims in the USA, except maybe first or second generation immigrants is for practical purposes indistinguishable from non-Muslims. The levels of persecution are circumstantial and have little to do with your perceived differences in the two religions but you have chosen to ignore that. Where there are extreme circumstances Muslims manage to present extreme conduct. Christians have and would do the same, but you'd probably prefer to label the latter revolution, freedom fighting, or manifest destiny or something.
