Hi, CharleyMike. I have the most transparent of motivations, truly. Read my posts, and you will see that it is my perception that Reagan is either delusional or a big liar. (I think he is disconcertingly strange in a number of other ways, too; I will spare the thread a recap, but it is there for you to read if you wish.) I think a documented pattern of weird fabulation is important in a president. I think millions of Americans have been cynically manipulated by an actor with a loose grip on reality, and by his handlers. Below is a post that disturbed me greatly. (I apologize to Michael for posting it again; Michael wrote a clarification indicating that this message was not a true reflection of his feelings; but his original post articulates precisely what I fear was the scam bought by many, many people, so I'll paste it here for you):
<<<I admire the man greatly as a leader of this country. Regardless of any personal short-coming, he was able to look into a camera and make Americans feel safe, confident, proud, optimistic... >>>
CharleyMike, I think it is an unfair characterization of what has gone on here to say I have been "attacking anyone who might rise to his defense." What I have been doing is disagreeing, and "attacking" Reagan -- not attacking my fellow posters personally. If you read the posts, you will see that I have been the object of extremely ugly personal attacks. If you find an ad hominem attack made by me against some poster, please show it to me so I can apologize.
Please also go to some trouble to read Zoltan's postings to me, and mine to everyone else, and come back and tell me whether you still say I have "attacked anyone who rises to Reagan's defense." I would very much appreciate your doing that; and if you find what I think you will, I would appreciate your returning with an evaluative comment on Zoltan's posts to me.
I can understand why my posts appear "obsessed" with Reagan. It is because I've been deluged with posts on this subject -- for a while, no matter how many posts I answered, I still had 15 in my InBox -- and I like to reply to anything addressed to me. |
