Perhaps Clive feels that by disclosing Bema's intention to increase their position it reaffirms his confidence in the company and the project and that in turn would create a calming effect on both stocks. Further, this public announcement would not go unoticed by those company's eyeing this project from a distance (Teck, Barrick etc..)

If Bema's ownership of the property increases and further drilling makes it clearer to most that this is a world-class mine in the making that would be most beneficial to Bema. The potential cost to acquire Arizona's interest will be much greater than today. This move then would be considered shrewd in retrospect
