Jerome and thread,
I have emailed a couple of you but i just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year. Haven't been paying much attention lately. Playing with my grandson. Coming to terms with what happened here in NYC in september. Business conditions finally are getting better. However in my area, there are winners and losers and some players will fail or be absorbed by survivors over the next quarter or two-- so a mixed bag. But the big banks will be making big bets in 2002. Interest rates are just too low to ignore. And the tech in place is mostly pre-y2k and getting old. Consumer reticence may ultimately be what slows down the train but that will have the other effect of mitigating the need for rate increases and thus strenghening the long term recovery. And demographics are still the best friend Mr. Market has at least for another bunch of years. mike
