Sean, here is how I had it set up. Data on Drive D Prog on Drive C Buffer on Drive C If I go into setup and change my pointer for DiskBuffer from C to D but leave my buffer on C the list (F2) works but no history available for a security off the buffer. If I move the buffer to Drive D (where my data file is located) and leave my Program files on Drive C everything works fine. This is fine with me if it doesn't slow down my scans too much. when you goto the notepad icon and open a list does the file open dialog default to the qp2data\lists directory??? Yes, it defaults to qp2data\lists directory which is on drive D. Sean, basically I had mine set up exactly as you do except my REMOVABLE Drive is D instead of E(yours). I can plug the Removable Drive in another machine setup as above and the same problem occurs so it must be a software problem. I am emailing this message to Gary now. Monty
