Bill, > Keynesian economists believe raising taxes to balance the budget in a recession is self defeating. It's not about balancing the budget. It's about redistributing wealth. Those who quote Keynes out of ignorance think that you need to tax the "rich" more because they tend to hoard wealth. Then you spend it on stimulus, government make-work projects, and other programs that benefit the poor and middle-class because they tend to spend it faster. Good luck trying to get that out of Ted, however. Liberals only talk with a semblance of intelligence and honesty amongst themselves.
