Steve,

I got another tech question. It is my understanding (there is that phase again) ;-) that AMD and Cyrix are using a socket 7 motherboard. Intel has abandoned socket 7 and now has a proprietary P6 Bus (you know Slot 1, 2 and M). Well as the demand for socket 7 starts to dwindle, the hardware vendors will become reluctant to support it because Socket 7 will turn into a low volume=high cost proposition. Right? How do you think NSM and the AMD gang will respond to this.

Intel is making significant progress to this end with each PII sold. And when the FTC floated a trial balloon saying Intel may be in violation (ya right), Intel responded with its own trial balloon saying they will license the P6 bus but only at a price. "Value for Value" was the exact term they used.
