A virtuous spirit known to each and every human heart across time and circumstance neither confined by any religion nor absent of any ideology of decent society condemns such a mean spirited diatribe. This kind of rhetoric has the potential to do for the conservative movement what the conduct of Timothy McVeigh did for the extreme right a decade and a half ago.

Conservatives who've worked hard to create some momentum in their current movement would be wise to shun conduct such as this and where possible speak against it, as Sarah Palin and others have wisely done, before it becomes the prevailing confirmation of a negative right wing stereotype.

Provocational book burning is among the most desperate of expressions to be found among despots. I certainly wouldn't want to be associated with such actions and I doubt it will be an attractive trend for decent citizens still considering where to cast their next vote.
