Arnie: RE: Nextel acqusition of SMR licenses, specifically my client.
Evidently this is the first part of a very long process. Nextel hasn't officially been awarded the licenses yet, however, they sent a representative to speak, the following information was available. After the award Nextel has a period of time to start the process, 30-60 days. The process is similar to eminent domain procedures. Then, the parties have a year to arrive at the condemnation price (negotiations, of course). If Nextel and the selling party can't agree within the year, then arbritration.
Based upon the feedback that I got, nothing will happen for quite awhile. I hope that Nextel doesn't have to borrow more money to complete the license acquisitions.
