EZweb (for cdmaOneTM)
(It looks like it is similar to Sprint PCS service, now faster)

EZweb is an Internet service for cdmaOne users that the DDI CELLULAR Group launched in April 1999. This service is based on EZServer, a gateway server configured for use with WAP (Wireless Application Protocol). WAP is an Internet connection protocol specifically designed for mobile environments.

* The WAP specification is released by the WAP Forum. This is an industry group made up of telecommunications carriers, manufacturers, content providers and other organizations throughout the world. It is becoming an industry standard.

EZweb provides easy Internet access in a mobile environment without the need to connect via a personal computer or other device. It lets users send and receive e-mail and access information sites with content presented in Handheld Device Markup Language (HDML) via cellular-telephones equipped with the EZBrowser system.

Another important feature is personal information management. Users can create and view personal address books, schedules and task lists in the EZServer. They can also access and edit this information from personal computers.
