What do you make of AOL's decision to focus on being a connectivity provider versus a content developer? The management has demonstrated clearly their inability to grasp what it is they provide versus what the Internet will provide in the near future. What unique service is AOL providing which just about any other true communications company can't provide? They provide organized content which stands in stark contrast to the chaos of web-space. They are all too aware that this will soon change and so they are getting out of that buisness. That's the end of AOL as we know it and, IMO, the end of AOL.
