"however, there is now a real reason to improve the technology for producing ethanol from cellulose.

I've shown evidence that the technology does exists is not some kind of pipe dream. Your LOL doesn't really make a very convincing counter argument."

Allen - the technology exists to go to the moon. The technology exists to convert coal into diamonds. Perhaps I should have used the term "commercial" when I said the cellulose to ethanol technology does not exist but I thought such would be obvious. I have to remember dogma and economics do not mix.

There are huge research expenditures to convert the science to technology for converting cellulose to ethanol. Any suggestion that the technologies are currently commercial is simply a distraction from facing the realities of our energy situation.

BTW - it will be interesting to see what mileage standards are for cars burning food - oops - sorry ethanol!
As with wind, solar and other future sources - build what you want for converting anything you can think of to ethanol. Simply do not pretend you have an answer today. Any such pretext is not even worthy of an LOL.
