On July 20, 2000, a complaint was filed, alleging violations of the federal securities laws by Dr.koop.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: KOOP - news) and certain of its officers and/or directors. The class action was commenced in the United States District Court, for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division on behalf of purchasers of Dr.koop.com securities during the period between June 8, 1999 and March 30, 2000, inclusive.
The complaint charges that defendants violated Sections 11, 12(a)(2) and 15 of the Securities Act of 1933, and Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and Rule 10b-5 promulgated thereunder, by making materially false and misleading statements in their Initial Public Offering Prospectus, and to the market.
