Wrong, they need to achieve revenue growth, and profitability will eventually follow.

And to be a decent stock, they need to achieve revenue growth above the level of their peer companies (IBM, HPQ, DELL), at least in the comparable product areas.

Any profitability achieved through cost reduction will be temporary otherwise, and the market knows this.
