>>If I have missed something in the story that "does make it clear that no registered lobbyists were among the Greenberg contributors" please point it out to me.<<

BP -

Here are the last two paragraphs of the story. The emphasis is mine.

----

Obama's invitation for the fundraiser stated he doesn't accept money from "currently registered federal lobbyists, registered foreign agents, political action committees, or minors under the age of 16."

His filings show he was true to his word, though one donor was registered as a Washington lobbyist, in 2004.

----

Thus, the story makes it clear that Obama did not take money from registered lobbyists. One formerly registered lobbyist, but no current ones.

By the way, you are correct that Greenberg Traurig is a huge firm that does perform a wide variety of services for its clients. Just look at all their different practice areas:

gtlaw.com

The employees of such firms generally work in specific departments. They develop expertise in an area, like contract law, for example, and they work in that area. The fact that lobbying is one of the dozens of services the firm provides doesn't indicate in any way that all employees are involved with lobbying.
