It is a good point. Buffet says his secretary pays a higher tax rate than he does. So, does that mean increasing the top tax rate will affect him? Of course not.

The reality is that wealthy people make very little of their money as "earned income". It is investment income.

Unless you want to eliminate the favorable tax treatment for muni bonds (which would KILL infrastructure improvement overnight), then Buffet is STILL going to pay lower rates after any big tax increases.

The real solution is for Turner, Gates, and Buffet to step up and write the check without being told to do so. Instead of doing that, though, what do they do? They find THEY are able to put their money to good use rather than the government doing so.

It is so fucking two-faced it is unbelievable the sorry media allows them to get away with it. Amanpour could easily have asked Buffet, "Why don't you just write a check to the government for a couple billions if you aren't paying enough?"

But she would never ask that question.

Neither would this utter nitwit Shep who goes on and on about this crap he can't even understand the basics about.
