Of course not.. They want to create their own alternative to the existing economic and political system.. Few sane people believe the militants are trying to fight for political openess. Their goal is to "purify" the muslim world, by force and fire, if necessary. And when they are done there, they will deal with the infidels.

But we're forcing them to deal with both at the same time, and they aren't likely strong enough to pull that off if we continue to put them under pressure and force their hand.

Think of the Arab world as a form of non-democratic Wiemar Republic, too weak and corrupt to protect itself from the totalitarian Islamo-Fascists vultures seeking to rip it apart.
