What I did in my computer was install a new HDD, a smaller one than the original. My original, that is a 10 GB my second is a 8 GB. (I did this for a reason)

I use D: strictly for back up ONLY. I took images of my HDD when I rebuilt it, one image with Win98, Win98 SE, all the drivers installed for Sound card, CDR-W, Video, etc...so if I ever want to do a clean install I just restore that first image.

Then I created 2 more images of the C: in case one gets corrupted. This has happened to me with Drive Image. I always take an image before I install any new software, just in case it goes haywire after the install. I back-up critical data ALL the time, Netscape user folder, etc...so if an image is a couple weeks old, all I have to do is restore the image and then copy the critical data to bring the computer back up to date.
