Don't you think IJ is facing a credibility deficit at this point given how badly he seems to have misjudged the standards game? I suspect this was not how the script was meant to read.

OTOH I do remember IJ being quoted saying that he was "betting the company on HDR". He obviously believes that he's likely to win converts during the interim period between when 1X/HDR is deployed and WCDMA is ready.

I wonder if he's right about that, especially if all 3 Korean co's choose WCDMA. IMO Art's question is bang on, if Korea goes entirely WCDMA , the Japanese and Unicom will most likely bolt too. And I wonder about the timeline also for WCDMA also, whether it won't roll out earlier than he anticipates, closing the window on 1X/HDR?
