NEW YORK--Cisco Systems has awarded its $50-60 million account to darkGrey following a review that included TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., and JWT & Tonic in San Francisco, sources said.

The incumbent, Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in San Francisco, declined to defend.

Final creative pitches were last week, during which each agency had three hours to present strategy and creative for the brand, sources said. The win marks yet another high-tech triumph for darkGrey, a unit of Grey Worldwide, and was a bi-coastal effort from the San Francisco and New York
offices. Dave Tutin, executive creative director of darkGrey, who is based in New York, led the pitch along with San Francisco's Casey Jones, one of darkGrey's managing partners, sources said.

The shop's other high-tech clients include DoubleClick, Unisys, Oracle and BellSouth.

Cisco is based in San Jose, Calif.

Executives at the agencies either could not immediately be reached for comment or declined comment. Client officials also could not be reached at press time.
