If we followed Rick Merritt and Jake MaCloud's advice, we would stiffle innovation and end up in the same boats as team GSM (i.e. chasing a market leader not in the market place but in the courts).

For what it's worth, I know bechtel is a fine company, with Mega project experience, but they've never been more than a bit player in the wireless space. Deploying wireless networks centers around acquiring sites, pouring pads and erecting towers and does not require Bechtel's mega project management skills. I think Jake was simply lobbying for deploying WiFi on every street corner in order to create a mega project worthy of Bechtel skills.
