Lightning Internet Services Announces Nation's First Burstable DSL Internet Service
NEW YORK, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Lightning Internet Services (Lightning.net), a leading provider of advanced network services and corporate ISP, announced today that it has completed development of a new service -- the first Burstable xDSL access in the nation. BurstableDSL(SM), a LightningDSL(SM) service, has been achieved by integrating the latest advancements in Internet access technology so that Lightning can offer its clients the most cost-effective bandwidth-on-demand, pay-for-use xDSL service.
Lightning has paved the way for another major advance in delivering cost-effective, corporate class Internet access. Three years ago, Lightning announced Burst-A-T(SM), one of the nation's first T1 based burstable Internet services. Burst-A-T(SM) quickly became a standard service offering for many ISPs. ''We've planned this for a long time and felt that launching the service was consistent with being an Internet innovator. This also helps us build our LightningDSL(SM) brand name and provides our clients with the best possible bandwidth value in the market'' states Chris Kern, Vice President of Lightning.
Lightning is capable of providing BurstableDSL(SM) by connecting with leading DSL carriers such as Covad Communications (Nasdaq: COVD - news) and Network Access Solutions. Both companies have been an integral part of Lightning's ability to bring this new service to the Internet industry and business community.
''BurstableDSL(SM) is a natural move for us and will be a huge success due to its high bandwidth service and cost effective fee structure. We have been a pioneer of utilization based billing structures. Burst-A-T(SM) is now an incredible success, and has huge demand. BurstableDSL(SM) is the next step and will become a common thread in the Internet services industry'' states Reid Fishler, President of Lightning Internet Services, LLC. |
