And merely having a disabled child does not give you a right to use them in cruel jokes, any more than having a person of color in your family gives you the right to tell racist jokes. (IMO, of course)

I do not agree with your point that because you have a child with a disability you have the right to tell or enjoy such jokes. I also do not agree with your construction of the joke, nor do I think most people would be laughing at that construction (or interpretation, if you prefer).

I do not like the joke. It has nothing to do with PC. It just seems nasty and wrong to use that picture of that lovely young person, in that way. You are of course free to disagree.

I think in any other venue you would agree that there was a problem with that "joke" But perhaps not, maybe you really believe what you just posted. I have no way to know.
