I don't know what SI Jeff will do about suspensions, but Poet and I evidently have a disagreement about what should happen if there aren't any from that quarter.

My position will probably be this:
First, I'm fully aware that you were not making a threat to shoot CL. But because you (intemperately) merely used the word "shoot," a freighted word, I believe that, for the sake of precedent and of not being in the position of having to explain to someone else (someone with a motivation not to understand) in the future why their use of the word "shoot" or "gun" in regard to some poster is a threat, but Ish's use of the word "shoot" wasn't, you should be suspended from SMBR for a few days. Because precedent is on occasion more important than common sense. And because hard cases make bad law. And all those usual reasons.
Since Poet thinks no suspension, and I think 4 or 5 or 6 days, I'd go with a compromise of two or three. Bend over.
I believe CL threatened you in an attempt to be all scary and powerful-feeling, and don't buy for a mini-second his amusing "the promise was to report a TOU violation to SI" bs, of course.
Let's see what Jeff does. It's all academic for now so straighten back up and pull up your pants.
